The Spark: Connecting Canadian Nonprofit Innovators
Back in 2008, a group of people across the country received some funding to start talking about how nonprofits in their various communities or regions could start working together. After 13 months of working together, the conversations about sharing and co-operating were much more layered and innovative than what we had when we started. Without even knowing it, we had created a community of people interested in innovation in the nonprofit world. We committed to staying connected and eventually found some money (thanks to a grant from the Government of Canada) to get a Canada-wide network going, hoping to connect to other innovative communities that are out there. And so the Canadian Nonprofit Innovators Network was born! The *Spark is the online community outreach, dialogue, and resource centre for the Canadian Nonprofit Innovators Network. We wish to link people, ideas, and tools, overcome communication barriers, and share stories in order to develop innovative practices in the nonprofit sector.
